Sendenhorst/ Oberkotzau. VEKA Aktiengesellschaft is sticking to its decision announced in December 2021 not to participate in this year's fensterbau frontale. As announced in the original statement, following the postponement of the trade fair date to July, both VEKA and GEALAN conducted a comprehensive internal evaluation of the new situation. The result, after intensive consultations, was the same in both houses: they are sticking with non-participation.
"There is no one main reason, it is much more the sum of various aspects," says Andreas Hartleif, CEO of VEKA Aktiengesellschaft. "From our point of view, it is not only the date in July that is unfortunate. We know from many years of experience that a lot of partner companies as well as potential visitors have other priorities than a visit to the fair in the middle of summer. In addition, we are rather critical of the cost-benefit ratio for the emerging framework. This assessment is unreservedly shared by our partners as well as by the in house departments involved", he continues.
Even though there are no summer holidays in Bavaria at the time of the trade fair, Ivica Maurović, managing director of GEALAN, shares this position: "We see the planning security as only partially given, even in July. Certainly, COVID-19 infection rates will drop again in the summer, but we cannot expect to see a more or less normal event with a few adjustments. In addition, we also have the feedback from our partners, which definitely does not point to a relaxed visit to the fair within the usual framework."
It is important to both Hartleif and Maurović to emphasise that fensterbau frontale will continue to be an integral part of the event calendar of the national and international window industry for both companies. Both feel that it is a great disadvantage for the intensive exchange with their own customers that they have now missed out on two events due to the pandemic. "We very much hope that the global situation will have calmed down enough by 2024 so that we can then once again experience a trade fair that gathers the entire industry in one place and reaches the level of 2018," Hartleif and Maurović conclude.
VEKA and GEALAN are currently working on alternative concepts to present the new products and innovations planned for the trade fair to their customers. The respective partner companies will be informed about these plans in due course via the usual channels.

On 1 July, it was exactly 10 years since VEKA AG from Sendenhorst, one of the leading manufacturers of PVC profile systems for windows and doors, took over 100% of the shares in the system house GEALAN Fenster-Systeme GmbH, headquartered in Oberkotzau, Upper Franconia.
A good two years have passed since the ground-breaking ceremony at GEALAN's Tanna site – now the new fully automated high-bay warehouse has been officially inaugurated in the presence of numerous high-profile guests. In the meantime, the 16-million-euro new building has already been put into operation.
With a lead programme and showroom design, GEALAN will provide window manufacturers and dealers with even better support in their day-to-day business in the future. Suitable GEALAN furniture and planning services for the in-house showroom are already available. When registering for the GEALAN lead programme, retailers and manufacturers will receive targeted enquiries from private customers from this summer.
