Modern windows bring more than daylight and fresh air into the interior of the building. With their well thought-out design, they skilfully combine the aspects of functionality, shape and colour. On the one hand, you optimize the energy efficiency in the building and protect the rooms from noise and burglary. On the other hand, windows with a simple design language set clear visual accents. And the colour scheme also plays a central role in windows that are trendy.
The design of windows influences both the exterior and the interior view. As an element, they set visual accents on the façade. In the interior, they influence its style and atmosphere. For a long time, the focus in the field of PVC windows was on white frames. Their timeless look proves to be uncomplicated over the long service life. But for some years now, the trend has been moving more and more towards the colour of the window profile. Andreas Linke, who as Group Leader is responsible for product management in our company and the GEALAN ACADEMY, states: "The diversity in the colour sector is increasing!". Warmer tones such as pearl beige (RAL 1035), for example, are becoming increasingly popular with architects as well as private builders. Such metallic tones look noble and high-quality.
GEALAN-acrylcolor® means enormous variety in design and colour. The surface technology is created in the coextrusion process. PVC and PMMA (better known as acrylic glass) form an inseparable bond. In the manufacturing process, not only are the two materials combined, but the PMMA layer is also polished. This results in the silky matt surface of the window profiles, neither dust nor pollen settle easily on it. But the advantages of GEALAN-acrylcolor® extend far beyond dirt resistance. The surface remains colour-stable, scratch-resistant, resistant and weather-resistant for decades. To ensure the latter advantage, the GEALAN team carries out weathering tests. In the laboratory, the profiles refined with the special surface are exposed to artificial extreme bonds, and they are also weathered under real conditions in the wild.
Above all, the GEALAN-acrylcolor® surface technology scores with its extensive range of colours. Product management expert Frank Ganick knows: "In Germany, as in other countries, colour habits change from time to time. We therefore regularly adapt our range to the colour wishes of the various target groups." The spectrum currently ranges from current trend colours such as bronze or gold, to classics such as anthracite (RAL 7016) and white tones, to colour nuances typical of the region. Sophisticated PVC formulations ensure heat-optimised profiles, even if they bear the dark tones.
For the inside, there are many colour-matching decorative films available, which give the window a uniform design or set a visual contrast to the outside.
