On 1 July, it was exactly 10 years since VEKA AG from Sendenhorst, one of the leading manufacturers of PVC profile systems for windows and doors, took over 100% of the shares in the system house GEALAN Fenster-Systeme GmbH, headquartered in Oberkotzau, Upper Franconia.
VEKA and GEALAN celebrate their anniversary: 1 July 2014 marked the start of the cooperation between two companies that had a great deal of overlap in their values and goals and focus on the highest quality standards in products and services.
The consistently positive development of GEALAN over the course of ten years of cooperation can be seen in the figures alone: within the GEALAN Group, the number of employees has increased by around 40%. The Group's sales increased by around 70% during this period.
With this successful cooperation, the VEKA Group has succeeded in bundling competencies and solutions along the entire "windows and doors" value chain and further expanding its strong competitive position worldwide.
Ivica Maurović, Spokesman of the GEALAN Executive Board, looks back on the first decade of a cooperation that is always good, cooperative and always based on partnership: "The trust that VEKA placed in us ten years ago was not a matter of course. Once again, many thanks to the Hartleif couple and their team! We particularly appreciate the fact that we were able to develop our own GEALAN brand independently and on an equal footing with the VEKA brand during the sometimes challenging years. I think this is unique in our industry in this constellation. Looking back, the development of the GEALAN Group shows me that the decision was the right one."
Andreas Hartleif, CEO of the VEKA Group, takes a similar view: "At the time, we dealt intensively with the takeover of GEALAN Fenster-Systeme GmbH and played through various scenarios. Almost all of our assumptions have been confirmed over the last ten years and we can say today that it was a very good and right decision to integrate GEALAN into the VEKA Group. The strategy with the two brands has led to many synergies and positive developments in both companies. The GEALAN companies make a stable contribution to the results of the entire Group and for this we would like to thank not only the management around Ivica Maurović and Tino Albert, but also all employees. We will do everything we can to ensure that the next decade remains a success story."
As a symbolic thank you for the tenth anniversary, the GEALAN delegation presented a golden partnership certificate for the VEKA management team at the last joint advisory board meeting in Sendenhorst: (from left) Tino Albert (GEALAN Managing Director Technology & Finance), Michael Pattalon (Head of Group Planning & Controlling VEKA and Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Board), Ivica Maurović (Spokesman of the GEALAN Management Board, Managing Director Sales, Marketing and Marketing System Development), Andreas Hartleif (CEO of VEKA AG and Chairman of the Advisory Board), Pascal Heitmar (Chief Financial Officer of VEKA AG and member of the Advisory Board) and Alexander Jahn (Commercial Director GEALAN).
