STV®

Static dry glazing

GEALAN's one-of-a-kind bonding technology permits the smooth production of large-format window elements.

Benefits for window construction

No additional investment

No significant investment in new machines is necessary with STV® static dry glazing, because the profiles are supplied with the adhesive strip already integrated.

Standard production cycle

The profiles are processed as usual. Cutting, heat sealing, finishing and glazing can also be carried out as normal by making minor adaptations to the STV® technology requirements.

Improved statics

The combination of STV® technology and traditional steel stiffening elements permits the production of as yet unrivalled element sizes. This also permits more stable elements in custom applications.

Increased heat insulation

White elements of standard size (1.50 x 1.50 m windows and 1.10 x 2.30 m French windows) featuring STV® technology can be built entirely without steel stiffening elements. The Uf values are thus noticeably improved (by up to 0.2 W/(m²K) depending on the profile combination).

Savings potential

The time-consuming adjustment and re-adjustment work on the window can be reduced to a minimum. Also, the reduced weight makes it much easier to install the elements.

Exploit the benefits of the system

All the STV® components have been interchangeably tested in line with the valid RAL specifications for bonded constructions and are state of the art. The values achieved correspond to the familiar performance classes of the GEALAN profile systems.

More about STV®

EFFORTLESS PRODUCTION WITH DRY BONDING

STV®: simply practical

STV® is the ground-breaking system for dry bonding panes and sash upstands. Compared with the conventional wet bonding method, it delivers decisive benefits without compromising on ease of fabrication. STV® is a system that really works.

The principle of static dry glazing

The STV® static dry glazing technology developed by GEALAN involves bonding the glass and sash profile using an adhesive tape designed specifically for building windows while still being able to pack the glass as usual. Bonding the pane with the sash profile transfers the stiffness of the glass pane to the sash and makes the entire system more intrinsically stable. This means that standard elements can be produced entirely without any steel. Alternatively, more stable elements can be fabricated in combination with steel and STV®. In addition, it is possible to greatly improve the stiffness of arched and slanted windows for custom designs.

STV® from GEALAN offers window manufacturers the first ever system for the efficient and economic production of windows with bonded panes.
